Buyers Beware when choosing someone to sealcoat your pavement.
Look out for guys that will improperly mix (over delute) concentrated material and not add any silica sand or commercial additives. These type of people are often sloppy with application (get "sealer" on bricks / concrete / siding) doing more damage than good.
These types of "contractors" give this business a bad name with a job that will not even last a year.
Look out for contractors that use Asphalt based sealers and glisonite ( refered to as " oil based sealer " or " rejuvenater " ) . These products are affected by the suns UV rays and will dull and break down to a faded gray color in less than a year. These two products have very little resistance to water and DO NOT protect against oil and chemical spills because they are made from petroleum products.
These types of "contractors" also give this business a bad name with a job that will not even last a year.
Take a look at some of their jobs that are at least a year old to see if they prematurely wore off, and how neat or sloppy they applied the "sealer". This should give you a good idea of what you may get. One sealcoating contractors quality can greatly vary from another.
