  Asphalt is the final product in the petroleum distillation process and all petroleum products will acually dissolve the asphalt material. Petroleum products ( gas, oil, diesel fuel, transmission fluid etc.) dripping from vehicles cause serious damage to asphalt pavement by dissolving the asphalt binder. [asphalt cement (black part of asphalt) is the asphalt binder]

  The sealer that BROTHERS SEALERS uses in the sealcoating process is a rubberized Coal Tar Pitch Emulsion with a polymer additive and aggerate (sand) added (and constantly hydraulically agitated during application). C.T.P. emulsions are not petroleum based and they actually resist petroleum products, thus protecting the asphalt pavement. C.T.P emulsions are not affected by the suns UV rays so they will not fade to a gray color. The only way Brothers Sealers sealer wares off is years of motorvehicle traffic and snow plows scraping the surface.
